Q: Who can participate in this competition?
A: All cg-forum.com members are welcomed.

Q: How can I register as cg-forum.com member?
A: You can register in cg-forum.com through a simply registration.

Q: Any age or occupation restrictions for the participation?
A: No, all CG enthusiasts and professionals are welcomed.

Q: Does the competition accept for the Hong Kong applicants only?
A: No, it is open to all in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and those from Asia Pacific. Oversea participants are welcomed to participate also.

Q: What I have to submit for final?
A: 1.) A 3d software generated image according to the topic. (Final CG Work will be named as the following)
 
2.) Completed Wireframe image
3. ) Concept Art images  

Q: What is WIP images?
A: Work-in-progress images.
Such as concept art, reference images, testing images and any material related to the final production. (lighting, texture mapping and so on.)

Q: Why I have to submit the WIP images?
A: 1.) All submitted WIP images will be treated as the judging criteria for THE BEST WIP AWARDS, and Other Awards.
  2.) We encourage all participants not only emphasising on the result but also on the progress as well.
  3.) All WIP images submission will be uploaded by the participants themselves, more WIP images uploaded will make the competition more interactive and comprehensive.

Q: Can I submit more than 1 Concept Art image?
A: We strongly welcome and encourage all participants to submit more than 1 Concept Art images in order to make the competition more interactive. Submission for 1 Concept Art image is the minimum requirement only.

**Q: The deadlines for both WIP images and the Final CG work are on the same date?
A: No, all participants are required to upload at least 1 WIP image at / before 19 March 2005 (12pm), for those unable to complete the minimum requirements will be cancelled with their participation qualifications.
All Final CG work must be submitted at/before 16 April 2005 (12pm). (The exact submission method /period will be informed to all participants individually during April 2005.)

Q: Will the Wireframe images be counted under the WIP categories? When will be the exact deadline for submission?
A: Yes, it will.
For the final competed Wireframe images, they can be submitted together with the Final CG Work at / before 16th April 2005 (12pm) . But for those Wireframe images generated during the production stage, they have to be submitted at / before the deadline of the WIP images.


**Q: Can I keep uploading WIP images after the closing day for WIP images upload (Phase 1) (19 March2005)?
A: Sure, you can.
It (19 March2005) is just a day for confirming all registered participants' identification only. We strongly encourage all participants keep uploading WIP images between the period of 19 March2005 - 16April 2005.



**Q: Would you mind explaining the competition procedure and the submission method again in more detail? I still have some confusion.
A: 1.) The participant needs to register as the cg-forum member in the cg-forum.com
2.) He/she needs to complete the application form in the CGVS website.
3.) A authorization email will be sent to his/her email account after the application.
4.) He/she will be arranged with a particular area to upload their works in the CGVS Competition Area.
5.) He/she is able to upload their WIP images right now.
6.) The other cg-forum members can make comments to the works uploaded.
7.) The closing date for registration at 16 March2005.
*8.) The participant is required to upload at least 1 WIP image at / before 19 March 2005(12pm) in CGVS Competition Area, he/she will be cancelled with his/her participation qualification automatically for not able to complete the requirement.
9.) The participant has to prepare his/her Final CG Work and the completed Wireframe images for the final submission. (The exact submission method /period will be informed to all participants individually during April 2005.)
*10) The participant can still upload his/her WIP images between 1March2005 - 19 April2005.
11.) The deadline of the final submission is at 16 April 2005. All late works will not be authorized.
12.) All received Final CG Works will be uploaded to the CGVS competition area by cgvisual.com
13.) Internal judgement period starts.
14.) During 10thMarch 2005 to 15th March 2005, all cg-forum members are able to vote online to choose their favourite images.
15.) At 15th March 2005, Online voting period closes.
16.) Internal judgement period closes.
17.) The final result will be announced in cgvisual.com afterward. All winners will be informed for the prizes collection by email individually.

Q: Can I get back my Final CG Work after the competition?
A: NO

Q: Can I participate the competition with different login names and works at the same time?
A: NO, we strongly encourage all participants to submit 1 set of Final CG Work only. Besides, to participate by using different login names at the same time is prohibited, all those committed will be cancelled with their participation qualifications.

Q: Can I use other software (such as Photoshop) for final modification and composing except using the 3d software?
A: Yes, you can.

Q: I didn't know why I haven't received the authorization mail yet after I successfully sent the application form few days ago?
A: If you are using the web mail (hotmail, yahoo¡Ketc), the authorization mail maybe sent to the junk mailbox in your email account.

Q: If I win in the competition, do I need to take the prizes by my own?
A: No, we will deliver the prizes to your mailing address directly.
