Competition Objectives :
  As one of the well-known international city, Hong Kong CG industry is getting more and more famous and gaining good reputation and positioning in recent years. In the meantime, CG industry in The Great China is also being rapidly developing. We do believe there must be a lot of unrecognized talents. CGVS is a CG competition organized by Cgvisual.com, which is aimed at gathering and motivating those CG talents to show off their creativities and abilities to the world. The contest is open to all in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and those from Asia Pacific. Oversea participants are welcomed to participate also. Don't miss out this chance to elevate yourselves to a higher level of creativity and technicality. Creativity, originality and technical excellence are all key winning criteria.

Competition Topic :
  [ MONSTER ]
  All participants have to create a 3D still picture according to the topic of MONSTER for the final submission. The work must be made by 3d software.

Competition Regulations:
1. All CG enthusiasts are invited to participate in this competition. The participants must be the Cg-forum registered members (free registration)
2. Individual participant only, each participant can submit one entry.
3. Upon receipt of your Entry Form, we will make an authorization to your registration, and no personal details can be changed anymore afterward.
4. All works submitted must be in original and haven't been posted in public before.
5. Cgvisual.com owns the rights to use the works submitted regarding to this competition or for CGV promotion use in the future.
6. The regulations and details of this competition will be amended from time to time, so all participants are suggested that they should pay attention to our official updates and announcements regarding to this competition in CGV. Participants will not be informed of the amendments personally.

Submission Procedures :
1.

All participants have to register in CG-forum.com before the application. (it is a free registration, if you are already the registered members in CG-forum.com, you can skip this step.)

Participants have to complete the application form for participating authorization.

3.

Once authorized, the participants will receive a confirmation email by us, and they are allowed to upload their works in the CGVS Competition Area at the moment. Please click here for upload.
4.


Authorized participants have to upload their work-in-progress (WIP) images (such as Concept Art, Wireframe and so on), and there is no limitation for the quantity of the WIP images submitted before the deadline of the final CG works submission. [All elements related to the work-in-progress will be considered as the judging criteria for the prize of Best WIP Awards.]

Works for Submission:
1.

All Participants are required to submit:
1) Final CG Work
2) Wireframe (completed)  
2) WIP images: includes : a) Concept Art b) Wireframe
(No limitation for the quantity of the WIP images , however , the minimum requirement is at least 1 images uploaded before 16 March2005.)
2.

**All participants are required to upload at least 1 WIP image at / before 19 March 2005(12pm) in CGVS Competition Area, for those participants unable to complete the requirements will be cancelled with their participation qualifications automatically. (check out the exact time in the Important Date column, and keep watching the cgvisual.com 's related announcements in the future)
3.

All submitted works must be in JPG format. the maximum size for uploading will be within 800x600 pixels.
4.


All submitted works must be not more than 300kb in size, but the Final CG Work has no such limitation.
5.

All Final CG Works will be only collected during the period of final collection. (The exact submission method /period will be informed to all participants individually during April 2005 .)

Golden/silver

a: Originality, creativity (35%)
b: Technicalities on modeling, texture, lighting and rendering(55%)
c: WIP images and the working process (10%)

Based on the WIP images, the working process, and the content of the work.

Important Date:
1 Feb 2005 ( Tuesday ) Starting registration.
16 March 2005 ( Wednesday ) The closing date for registration.
( All participants are required to complete the application form at / before 16 March 2005(12pm), all late applications will not be considered without acceptable reasons. )
19 March 2005 ( Saturday ) The closing date for WIP images upload (Phase 1).

16 April 2005 ( Saturday ) The closing date for collecting all Final CG Works.

The online voting period starts for all CG-Forum.com members.
4 May 2005 ( Wednesday ) The closing date for online voting.
6 June 2005 ( Monday ) Result Announcement.
